AUSTRIA

At the start of July 2004 another HSB 2000 R was delivered to Austria and placed into service.

As the only machine in the world, the "R" version provides a drilling extension arm with the unique HAUSHERR Double Roll-Over System (DRS) which allows the drilling carriage in the 2 main axles to turn full circle. All possible drilling positions can be reached as a result.

Overhead drilling motor and rods magazine make foot hole drillings possible in all directions. The spot drilling point is always well down (approx. 125 mm). 95 mm blast holes in limestone are drilled with a 3.5'' down-the-hole hammer at an average drilling rate of 50 m an hour.

The on-board compressor supplies 14 m³/min. at a 16 bar pressure. The all-terrain pendulum-type crawler with 180° slewing ring minimises secondary drilling times and allows the machine to move along the rock face from drill hole to drill hole.

In addition, the obligatory central corridor makes it easy to access all equipment even though the machine only has an overall 2,500mm width.

SWEDEN

HAUSHERR HSB

HSB 2000 is the "workhouse" of the Hausherr drilling equipment range in Sweden!

One of the most powerful DTH drilling machines on the market, the HSB 2000 is becoming ever more popular and slowly but surely emerging as the "star" of the industry. The delivery of a further machine of this type to Sweden's largest cement works illustrates the extent to which the 25 bar / 18 cbm design of this machine is being very well received by customers.

"We not only want a flexible state- of- the- art, long-lasting drilling machine but one which is very easy to operate and allows us to carry out maintenance and repairs on our own", that was the tenor of what the new Swedish owner said.

As a result, it was an easy decision to make at the end, despite two demonstrations by competitors.

It is not just that the HSB 2000 has those long-standing highlights of Hausherr equipment, such as high-tech "Grammer" driver seat, air-conditioning, CD radio, tinted glass panes, cab with ROPS, FOPS II, acoustic ( < 75 dB(A) and dust-insulation etc., but it also has features that take some beating.

As the world's only DTH drilling machines, the HSB series (HSB 1000, HSB 2000) machines combine a 180° slewing ring and pendulum-type carriage.

Hence there is no need for any unnecessary manoeuvring from drill hole to drill hole. This alone considerably reduces the secondary process times when moving the machine.
Safety for driller and appliance alike is substantially raised by the fact that the holes to be drilled can be approached from the side with a large gap to the rock face.

The enormously stable pendulum-type carriage is fitted with 400 mm, 3-studded crawler tracks and ensures trouble-free travel no matter how impassable the terrain.
A tail supporting cylinder ensures a firm footing at all times.
The centre maintenance corridor is another unique feature. It allows operating and maintenance personnel to easily access any component from at least three sides. No need therefore for any complex, time-consuming dismantling in contrast to other machines that suffer from cramped conditions. In addition, extremely high magazine and feed unit rates of motion (60 m / min) have reduced secondary drilling times.

It only takes a few seconds for rod changing.
The dust extractor has an above-average extraction capacity. It is fitted out with low-wear, water-resistant filters with a service life of up to 7,500 drilling hours.
Maximum convenience in winter operations comes from a pre-programmable and remote controllable independent heater with cab and diesel engine pre-heating.
In view of its flexibility and high-performance, there is every chance that customers will be taking the HSB 2000 into consideration when buying new drilling machines.
